What It’s Like Living in Jacksonville Beach
Living in Jacksonville Beach is about more than being close to the ocean. Depending on where you live, the beach, restaurants, coffee shops and parks may be close enough to reach on foot, by bike or even by golf cart. At the same time, Jacksonville Beach is large enough that everyday life can feel very different from one part of the city to another.
Closer to the ocean and central Jacksonville Beach, you’ll find more activity, restaurants and nightlife. Head north and you’re closer to Neptune Beach, Atlantic Beach and Beaches Town Center. Farther south, larger shopping areas and quick access to Butler Boulevard make it easier to reach Mayo Clinic, the Southside and other parts of Jacksonville. Move west toward the Intracoastal, and some neighborhoods begin to feel more residential, with larger lots, mature trees and quieter streets.
That variety is part of what makes Jacksonville Beach interesting. Two homes only a few miles apart can offer very different day-to-day lifestyles. The right location often depends less on which area is “best” and more on how you actually want to live.
